In the early years of Alesis there first product was the XT reverb released in 1985 it was an all digital reverb that had a low price of £466 they were making high end products for studios which made them very successful in the music industry.

In 1991 Alesis created an ADAT multi-channel tape recorder which at that time was a breakthrough as before studios would have to invest tens of thousands of pounds in such devices. That meant that pretty much every home and project studio could afford digital recording.

In 2001 Alesis was acquired by Jack O'Donnell and started producing the worlds most affordable analogue mixers with built in digital signal processing. Later they created a full line of electronic drum kits as well as highly innovative and adaptable audio interfaces and MIDI keyboards, controllers and studio monitors.
